State v. Sarah Grace Patrick

← Back to all trials

Case Background

Sarah Grace Patrick, a teenager from Carroll County, Georgia, is charged with murdering her mother Kristin Brock, 41, and stepfather James 'Jamie' Brock, 45, who were found shot dead in their bed on 20 February 2025. It was the couple's five-year-old daughter who discovered them unresponsive; 16-year-old Sarah then called emergency services.

Patrick was arrested in July 2025 and has been held in solitary confinement due to her age. Her trial, originally set for January 2026, was delayed to August to allow completion of a forensic neuropsychology report commissioned by the defence. The defence has also sought a change of venue.

Family members are divided — some report suspicion at Sarah's emotional detachment following the deaths, while others, including her biological father, maintain her innocence.
